Hi, I’m emjan.
A year after I began practicing Tai Chi, I made my own suit. By hand. This felt natural to me — I was always drawn to making. I didn’t know how to sew a garment, but I knew how to thread a needle. [see: emjan.nl]
I really liked making this suit, so I bought a sewing machine. I took lessons. Then I made a suit for my partner. A student of his asked for one.
One year later, 1000 LBS was born. Suit J071B071 is next. I love the shape, the clean lines, the lightness, the beautiful fabrics. And the frogs!
I still make one suit at a time, in certified organic fabrics, every one numbered.
I’m very happy with my new suit — it feels like a second skin and looks excellent.
